Whilst diet and exercise and great, unfortunately sometimes it is not enough if you are looking at how to remove stubborn fat. Naturally, we all have stubborn pockets of fat, and sometimes they can have a negative impact on our overall self-confidence.
When looking at how to remove stubborn fat, fat dissolving injections have become a real game-changer in aesthetic medicine, and one of the most common treatments around.
Both non-invasive and highly effective, fat dissolving injections can help to eliminate those stubborn areas of fat to help you feel more confident in your own body.
Fat removing injections – How do they work?
Known as a form of mesotherapy, fat dissolving injections are designed to target fat cells in specific areas of the body to get rid of any unwanted wobbly bits. They can be used in areas including:
– Chin
– Chest
– Thighs
– Abdomen
– Ankles
Fat-dissolving injections contain several refined plant-based compounds, and a naturally occurring substance known as sodium deoxycholate and are injected directly into the area of treatment.
When injected into the target treatment area, the ingredients help to dissolve the membranes of fat cells causing them to become unstable and break, releasing fatty acids. These fatty acids are then removed from the body through the natural lymphatic system.
Who are they suitable for?
Now, fat dissolving injections are highly effective in body contouring, but they should never be used as a weight loss solution. Those who are overweight or suffer from larger pockets of fat may benefit more from a body sculpting procedure.
Before looking at how to remove stubborn fat, you should consult a professional. Here at Ness Aesthetics, we’ll invite you for a consultation to analyse your concerns, and determine a safe, and effective treatment path.
Generally speaking, fat dissolving injections are safe for anybody with small stubborn pockets of fat who are maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle.
During your consultation, we will ask you some questions about your lifestyle and medical history to help us determine whether or not fat dissolving injections will work for you.
There are several conditions for which we do not advise undergoing fat dissolving injections, these include:
– Diabetes
– Active skin problem in the area to be treated is present.
– Liver or kidney disease.
– On blood thinning medicine e.g warfarin.
What can I expect directly after treatment?
Directly after treatment, you may experience slight swelling, and bruising of the treatment area. This is completely normal and should ease up after a few days. You may also experience slight tenderness to the area for a couple of weeks post-treatment, again this is normal.
To speed up recovery, we recommend avoiding hot showers and baths for around 24 hours, avoiding the use of self-tan products, skin creams, and exfoliants for at least a week, and avoiding exercise for around 10 days following treatment.
The Results
Fat-dissolving injections work their magic slowly, meaning your results won’t be instant. It usually takes several weeks to see any visible changes, but the good news is the results are permanent if you healthily maintain your weight.
For best results, you may require between 3-6 sessions, held six weeks apart. Our experts will advise you on treatment sessions during your initial consultation.
