How is excessive sweating treated?
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) can be effectively treated using Botox injections in problem or affected areas. This treatment is extremely effective treatment in significantly reducing sweating in different regions of the body. The results of Botlunum toxin lasts in between 2-6 months, this depends on your age, sex, metabolism, life style, area being treated, your facial expressions.

Treating hyperhidrosis
On the day of your procedure
If possible please attend for your appointment without make up, but if you are coming straight from work, there is no problem, your make up will be removed, photos will be taken and numbing cream applied to the treated area . During that time practitioner will once again discuss the risks and benefits of the procedure and explain what can you expect after procedure. If you are happy to proceed, the Nurse will inject the treated area with botulinum toxin, this will take about 15 mins. After that skin will be cleaned and post-procedure antiseptic cream will be applied and aftercare instructions given.
Recovery and aftercare
Straight after procedure, you may notice pinpoint bleeding and small injection marks, slight redness and swelling which usually goes down within the next hour.
Occasionally you may experience bruising especially around eye area, in this situation we recommend using a cold compresses and arnica cream to be applied topically to the affected area.
Some individuals experience temporary headaches after botulinum toxin injections, in this situation usual painkillers may be usuefull.
It is very important NOT to lie flat or lean down for 4 hours after procedure, as this may cause botulinum toxin to migrate and affect other muscles causing undesirable side effects. Also you must refrain from massaging, rubbing and putting any pressure to the treated area within first 4 hours.
You should also avoid strenuous exercises, saunas, hot yoga classes, other facial treatments, and drinking alcohol within next 24h.
When will I see results?
Results after botulinum toxin injections usually appear after 3 days post injection , but maximum results are observed after 14 days.
